School closed from May 11 for 6 days

 11 May, Kathmandu. Schools will be closed for six days from today for the local level election.  The government had decided to grant leave only on the 30th of polling day. However, polling stations have been set up in most of the community schools, some teachers have been deployed in the election and some have to go to the district to cast their votes.  

Earlier, the Education and Human Resource Development Center had directed all 77 education development and coordination units to give three days

leave in the schools where polling stations have been set up.  As it fell on Saturday, May 14 and the government has decided to give public leave on Sunday from May 1, the leave will also be given on Sunday. As Buddha Jayanti falls on May 16, there will be a public holiday on that day as well. 

Therefore, schools will be closed for 6 days from today. With the closure of schools, the number of people returning to the village from Kathmandu Valley to cast their votes has increased from today.  President of the Federation of Teachers Kamala Tuladhar said that there will be no schooling for six days from today. At present, there are about 27,000 community and about 8,000 private schools in the country.  In government offices, leave is given only on election day. Government employees are running on a limited staff as employees are deployed in the election.  

The district administration offices of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur have issued notices stating that the service will be affected on May 11 and 12. The Lalitpur District Administration Office, on the other hand, has stated that it will provide essential services to the limited staff.
