Liverpool won the Premier League title for the first time in 30 years with seven games remaining after losing to Chelsea in the previous game. Champions Liverpool were honored with a guard of honor at City's Etihad Stadium before the game. But under pressure from last night's game, City won brilliantly.
The first goals for City were scored by Hama Rahim Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne and Philfoden. Liverpool scored a suicide goal in the second half.
De Bruyne scored from the penalty spot in the 25th minute to give City the lead. Ten minutes later, Sterling doubled City's lead with a goal against the former club. Foden scored late in the first half. In the second half, Liverpool's Alex Oled Chamberlain scored a suicide goal
Even after the defeat, Liverpool has added 20 more points than City. Liverpool have 86 points from 32 games while City have 66 points.
In the next game, Sheffield United beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 to move up to seventh place and claim the top six.
