Locusts damage about eleven hundred hectares of agricultural crops

July 3, Kathmandu. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, the locusts have damaged 1,063 hectares of crops across the country. Speaking at the Committee on Agricultural Cooperatives and Natural Resources of the House of Representatives, Agriculture Secretary Rajendra Prasad Bhari said that locusts had caused more damage in Makwanpur, Dang, Pyuthan and Arghakhanchi.

He said that the locusts damaged 580 hectares in Dang, 283 hectares in Pyuthan, 100 hectares in Makwanpur and 100 hectares in Arghakhanchi. The ministry said the locusts had caused more damage to maize and vegetables.
